The obesity is a major health problem in the United States, the obesity means an excess amount of fat of human body due to genetic and environmental factors. The measuring tool of obesity is the body mass index, the obese persona has a body mass index of 30 or more. Also, the waist circumference is another tool used to measure obesity, for obese women the waist circumference of 35 inches or more, and for obese men, the waist circumference is 40 inches or more. The complications of obesity are high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, gallbladder diseases, obstructive sleep apnea, and some cancers. Behavior, environment, and genetics are contributing factors for obesity (Obesity action coalition, 2016). Also, decreasing the incidence of depression, poor self-esteem due to social discrimination among children. As well as saving medical costs related to obesity and its complications (Galson, 2008). Obese children after age 6 year have 50% risk to be obese as adults. Improving nutrition and increasing physical activities are keys to preventing and controlling obesity. The socioeconomic factors such as education and poverty have a large impact on people’s health. Controlling obesity needs a collaboration between all sectors such as public health, agriculture, education, and transportation. Also, making changes to the physical and environments have a great impact and that need a collaboration between governmental and nongovernmental partners while clinical intervention has the smallest impact on controlling
